Ukraine’s Energy Minister: 30% of Ukraine's energy infrastructure hit by Russia

Around 30% of energy infrastructure in Ukraine has been hit by Russian missiles since Monday, Ukraine's Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko says.

The minister told CNN that this was the “first time from the beginning of the war” that Russia has “dramatically targeted” energy infrastructure.

Russia launched missile strikes upon Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Lviv, Sumy, Kryvyi Rih, Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil on 10 October. Among the locations hit were an office building, a park, a children’s playground, a music hall, and several museums. A total of 19 people were killed and 105 were injured; at least 15 regions of Ukraine had power supply issues, some regions had water supply issues, too.

Vladimir Putin says “high precision weapons were used against power and communication facilities, as well as military agencies.”
