‘We are carrying out the plan we have received’: no one mobilised in Russia’s Altai

No people have been mobilised in Russia’s Altai, a senator for the region Vladimir Poletayev declared in a post on his Telegram channel. 

“According to the military commissar, no people have currently been drafted under partial mobilisation in Altai. Military enlistment offices are updating data on civilians, draft notices are being sent out,” Poletayev wrote. 

Press secretary of Altai’s head Mikhail Maximov confirmed to the Tolk outlet that no one had been mobilised in the region. “We don’t comment on the regional quota information. Currently, there are no reports of any complaints about the work of the military offices,” Maximov said. 

“We are carrying out the plan we have received. There is a plan, but for a different [time] period,” the region’s military commissar Oleg Denisenko added.

The authorities of at least 22 Russian regions have already reported to have completed the “partial” mobilisation plans, according to Russia’s state news agency TASS. 

On 4 October, Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu reported that over 200,000 people had been drafted into the Russian Armed Forces during the “partial mobilisation”. According to Shoigu, the mobilised will be sent to “combat areas” after they complete “combat coordination”. They will be sent to the combat zone alongside units that have already taken part in the “special operation” in Ukraine.
