A resident of Vladivostok has been arrested on charges of high treason in favour of military intelligence of Ukraine, reports Russia’s state news agency RIA Novosti, citing the Federal Security Service (FSB).
According to RIA Novosti, the man was accused of transferring data on military objects located in the Primorsky region.
Representatives of the FSB claim that the Russian man had been tasked by Ukrainian military intelligence with collecting and transferring data on “objects of critical and military infrastructure located in the region, while [he was] aware of the possibility that [the data] could be used against the security of the Russian Federation by the recipient”.
The Russian service also provided a video of the man’s detention and footage of the man walking around with a camera and taking pictures (it is not clear what exactly he is photographing in the footage). The particulars of the case have not been disclosed.
