Police in Russia’s Far Eastern region of Yakutia have filed criminal charges against musician and frontman of Crispy Newspaper band Aykhal Ammosov for “discrediting” the Russian army, the Free Yakutia foundation reports.
The local police stated that it had filed criminal charges against a 30-year-old Yakut man back on 23 August, however, the suspect’s name was not stated.
In mid-August, Ammosov was detained following an attempt to hang a ‘Yakutian punk against war’ banner in the centre of the city. The musician was fined three times before for “discrediting the Russian army” due to his anti-war displays.
Ammosov faces up to three years behind bars.
