Russia to lift all COVID land border-crossing restrictions on 15 July

Russia will lift the restrictions on crossing of the Russian land border, imposed due to the spread of COVID-19, on 15 July, reports Russian news agency Interfax, citing the Russian coronavirus command centre.

The restrictions being lifted are on crossing the border by land transport, notes Russian state news agency RIA Novosti.

Additionally, citizens of Belarus will no longer need to provide PCR test results to cross the border, while the same measure is still mandatory for citizens of all other countries, clarifies the command centre.

On 1 July, Russia’s Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor) lifted all restrictions, imposed on the country’s territory to stop the spread of the coronavirus infection, including the mask mandate, ban on nighttime operations of public catering, and a number of other measures. Furthermore, on 1 July, the ban on crossing the Finnish border was lifted.
