Foreign agent Friday: rapper Morgenshtern, Navalny ally Lyubov Sobol and analyst Leonid Gozman added to Russia’s ‘foreign agent’ list

The Russian Ministry of Justice has added rapper Morgenshtern, Navalny allies Lyubov Sobol and Vladimir Milov, President of the Union of Right Forces Leonid Gozman and several more people to the “foreign agent” register, updated every Friday on the ministry’s website.

Sociologist Boris Kagarlitsky, journalists Natalia Baranova and Denis Konstantinov, head of Internet Protection Society Mikhail Klimarev, and the Apologia legal aid group were also added to the list.

Rapper Morgenshtern made it to the list of individuals acting as foreign agents. Besides, Cultural Centre Typography in Russia’s Krasnodar was added to the list of foreign agent NGOs.

Earlier today, the ministry took four coordinators of the Golos vote-monitoring movement off the foreign agent register: Vladimir Zhilkin, Alexander Lyutov, Alexander Grezev and Ilya Pigalkin.

Last week, the Ministry of Justice removed two people from the foreign agent register for the first time ever. Golos board member Arkady Lyubarev and Lyudmila Kuzmina, chairwoman of the Samara branch of Golos, were taken off the list.
